LE910Q1 - Cell assisted location services (A-GPS)

My company is investigating the LE910Q1-WWG as an alternative to the LE910C1-WWXD.
95% of this has been no issue at all (some minor AT command set mismatches but nothing particularly burdensome to work around), however the Q1 module seems to have completely different Location / GNSS hardware

With the LE910C1, we followed the A-GPS Application note (80529NT11738A Rev. 3 – 2021-09-27) and this has worked extremely well for us. There is currently no similar document for the LE910Q1

  • Can/Does the LE910Q1 support A-GPS at all (potentially in a future firmware version)?
  • If yes - is there an applicable app note / guide on how to get it working

Hello,

Regarding the AGPS application note what is reported on 80529NT11738A is not valid for LE910Q1-WWG since it doesn’t support supply.
We are going to support the classic Server Based AGNSS for multiple constellation (GPS GLO GAL BDS) and different days in the next FW release. However it is not available now, so we also don’t have the document to share.

Same AT$ commands used to control the GNSS on the LE910C1x are available on the LE910Q1-WWG for backward compatibility.

Please also note that even though LE910Q1-WWG is on the same footprint as LE910C1-WWXD there are critical connections that must be executed from PCB point of view in order to allow the modem part to take control of the GNSS engine.
Please refers to the hardware user guide document for details.

Best regards,
Bartłomiej
